When i change gears in my 90 accord ex my engines RPMs go about 100-200 RPMs higher from the gear i left off from, for a lil while till i change gears or hold the clutch longer than normal. For example if im in 2nd gear at 2500 RPMs and then press/hold the clutch w/o pressing the gas my RPMs jump to about 2600 RPMs for about 1-2 seconds and then drop down to idle speed. I thought the RPMs are supposed drop like instantly once i press the clutch since it is in neutral status. What could be the problem here or is this normal for everyone? i think it is giving me a hard time shifting smoothly in my car w/o it jerking unless i release the clutch a lil slower. By the way im not speed shifting or anything. could the problem be my throttle or tranny or clutch or flywheel or something like that? My clutch sometimes squeels when getting out of first so im guessing everything is linked to the tranny out of all my problems.
