seriously dude, what the hell would rods do, unless they are lighter(which they prolly arent). the only purpose of upgradaing rods is to bulletproof the engine for high hp.

maybe he is trying to "bulletproof" the bottom end. I heard about this a year or so ago, and was just telling my buddy the other night because i might be buying new rods for my LS and he has a SOHC motor. im not sure how to do it though, I do know you have to bring it to a machine shop. do a search you might come up with somehting, make sure you let us know

I am pretty sure that the reason they have to go to the machine shop os b/c the top of the rod is too wide and it has to be milled some to fit the D series pistons. Not 100% sure but I would just buy aftermarket rods that are made for your car. The LS rods are not going to bulit-proof your motor in any way, they may make it stronger but not by a whjole lot and that money wasted could have been put towards a set of good quality rods. :2cents:

the LS rods in a dirty D is oly good to 275hp, why spend the money? Get crower econos or something if you want some cheap reliable rods.
