Dodge Stealth Rt*please Help*

I just got a 1992 Dodge Stealth RT.It has a problem with the motor .We opened the valve covers to find about half the rockers fell off
and were laying lose on the head.Two were broken a couple had dings in them and the rest were fine,the springs and lifters seem fine .I pulled the plugs and pistons seem to be in one piece.does any one have any idea how this could happen its DOHC and I dont know alot about them.The car has about 100,000 on it.THANKS GUYS.
