Well, i was just eating at dennys while my father talked to my two uncles and grandfather, it seems that they are going to buy the Canadian division of Warn Industrys. This is great, because i was just going to invest in a Engine hoist and some other tools for the Datsun 280Zx im getting. Now i need to know where i can get the information on engine weights for datsun vehicles and i would also like to know if winch hoists are better than the conventional ones? if anyone could help me out i would be very happy. Thanks.

I think I'd definitely prefer the hydraulic (common) variety. I've never used (or even seen) a winch-style engine hoist. The hydraulic ones work great, though. No reason to muck with a good thing.

there should be no problem lifting the engine of a 280 with a standard hoist (cherrypicker).
the best way to do it is usually by the intake manifold.
