2003 Sunfire, Headlight Problems due to a small accident...

A little while ago I bummed a car at a yield and I didn't see any damage, but the next day both of my low beam lights died on me. I really didn't hit this car all that hard either and I am wondering why both of my lights died and how am I able to fix this problem? I replaced the bulbs and nothing happened so I am thinking it is the assembly's or some sort of reset switch maybe. My service light comes on too, not the service engine light, just the service light with the rench icon. Any help with this would be a big help.

I already took it to the dearlership and they said the warranty will not help in this case. They wanted me to replace both assembly's right then, but the price was ridiculous and I thought I might be able to fix this issue without using my insurance.

Check the wiring for damage or corrosion. Start at the headlight assy and work toward the dash. I had the exact problem. when i started the car the headlight icon would flash 8-10 times then the wrench icon. I found a corroded wire in the left wheel well area which was under warranty. I mean how much damage do you have? Are the light assy smashed from the accident? If not how can it not be warranty?
P.S. I had the problem twice with two different wires being corroded. Strange for a 2003 with 7000k

I've been told by a local pontiac dealer that these cars are prone to having that condition with the corroded wire, being in the accident may have aggravated the fact. If thats the case its warranty.
