99' Quest won't start after pushing the button

Hi,

My 99' Quest won't start after I pushed the button stored behind the driver side kick panel. It's a black switch with red light on one end and the button on the other end. It was floating inside and not attached to anything but the several wire. I took off the kick panel to install remote starter and found this button.
It seems this is a switch to disengage the starter for safety reason, but I don't know how to reset it. If anyone know how to reset it, please let me know. I promise I won't push any strange button anymore.

Thanks in advance

You sure that's not the fuel safety switch? Check the owner's manual.

Thanks for the message.
The fuel switch is located in the different location, so that's not it. Maybe I should have more specific. It's not that car does not start, but the starter does not crank.
I checked the wires from the switch and they are going into the small black box that seems like a factory installed security system. I checked the battery, and fuses and they are all fine.

Any idea?

If you have keyless entry, press unlock with the remote first then try to start it. Other than that, I have no idea. Could be some sort of dealer installed device.
