how much do you reckon' a ford anglia in good condition would be worth?
we're (me and my dad) not sure of the year, but dads seems to think its a late model one.
it will be my first (road going) car.
it doesnt have a rego or w.o.f.
the paint is pretty bad.
it has a 1600 cortina in it with a twin barrel webber carb.
he says $1200 firm, what do you reckon?
(yes, i know this should be in the ford forum, but im so excited about it, and it will get more attention here, sorry!)

I wouldnt go anything over $1000 tops with no WOF and Rego.
I'd try around $7-800.00 by the sounds of it

Seems too dear, how long has it not been registered for, does it need new plates cause that will be expensive.
Is the motor got compliance cause id say it will need it in order to get a warrant
unless you check these out and talk him down id say walk away

If it hasnt been registered for several years you will have to reregister it at a cost of aover 500 dollars, remember that

BIG dollars!!!!! see www.ltsa.govt.nz/vehicle_ownership/regis.html for all the info you need.
Please, please be very wary of this car.It will cost you big time to get it re- registered if the plates have expired.More if the motor mods require re-certification. again - good luck~!
EDIT Robbie slipped in under me!
Naughty - you kept that info quiet!!!!!!!:D :D :D

Good things come to those who wait.
I'm thinking off the cost of any parts that you may need.
You would find it very hard to get anything like tail lights/handles etc etc.
Cars like those are too old and probably better of with people who are going to re-store them etc.
Just my 2 cents.

Ive been down that road with a mini, the difference is parts are alot cheaper/easier to get.
Now everything has been done its easy to maintain but when i first got it before pretty much everything was replaced it was really expensive

Robbie another thing to consider since you live in New Zealand. With our lovely government passing that new import law the next laws will be aimed at cars older than 15 years or so. They will most likely set high rego renewal prices and get extremely strick on the WOF's. I see it heading down that road mate. I hope I am wrong but they are after the boy racers and this is the first step to backdooring them.
