Interior repaint probs

Well I am repainting the interior and i have all the pieces out but I cannot get the bottom plastic housing off of the steering wheel column. I can get it off of the ignition but I can't get it off of the handle used to adjust the position of the wheel. How do ya do it? The knob on the end of it looks too big to push through the slot....

Also, is there a good place on the web to order like basic replacement parts? I have a cracked panel on the door and theres no point to painting it yet really.

Also, is there a good place to get like neoprene or whatever that stuff is called online?
