MLK Day

Woooohooooo MLK day...hey bubba get the fried chicken, I'll get the watermelon...it's time to celebrate...and don't forget the grits. And I'm just joking around so no offense intended I just watched a show about MLK Jr on the History channel so I figured I'd post. Honestly, I think I'd like to get involved with civil rights some day but I don't know if I could find it in myself to...Maybe I just need to find myself...Anyway, point being it's MLK Day and I've read some writings from him in a book that I have and he truly was a great person. To have that kind of moral courage and discipline is simply amazing. The idea of Nonviolence resistence is truly a noble one and to practice it with such discipline shows what great character he had. So this post is for Martin Luther King Day, celebrating the life and times of Martin Luther King Jr, one of the finest human beings to ever grace God's earth.

Oh and if you don't like this thread or the idea of this thread, well like Tupac said, "Check it/Don't have to bump this but please respect it"

I was listening to his I have a dream speach on NPR the other day. I have to say he was probably one of the most inspirational speakers I have ever heard.

I have great respect for Dr. King and I love the way his words and principles are so universally accepted and revered today.

That being said, can anyone tell me why MLK day and Confederate Pride Day are the same day?

I wasn't even aware that there was such a pride day. I'm sure though that someone thought that it wouuld be funny, however, i doubt anyone has gotten the joke, or even understands it
