greatly appreciate any help, but does anyone know what kinds of services you can do to your engine to get better performance and reliability? as in money dont matter? like i heard of

a) porting = better air flow?
b) boring = more displacement?
c) valve job = i dont know
d) stroker kit = i dont know either
e) heat treatment = i dont know

so does anyone know any more things to do or mind explaining a-e for me?

again please and it would be greatly appreciated...

newbie ben.

a)Port and Polish improves the air flow of what ever your port/polishing.
b)Boring makes more displacement which usually = more torque
c)A vavle job I'm not a 100% sure but I think they redo your vavletrain, new vavles, retainers, springs, etc. and I think they port/polish your head if you get at least a 3-angle vavle job.
d)A stroker kit ups your displacement and gives you stronger parts than stock to hold the extra displacement.
e)I'm guessing heat treatment is where you get your block completely frozen(at like absolute zero or something like that) This incredibly increases the strength of the block.

Other things you could do to increase the reliabilty would be a block gaurd(don't exactly know what it does, but I'm guessing it increases the rigidity of the block), a closed deck(I have no idea exactly how this is done), and a few other things to improve reliability and a little or a lot of power(according to if your going turbo=to help compression or n/a=raise compression) would be forged pistons and rods, resleeve the block, and a new (steel maybe?) crank.
