OK well this seem to have started a few weeks ago. I start the car in the mornings when it is cold or kind of wet and when it starts it squeals real loud for a second or sometimes a few seconds. IT goes away and doesnt come back while driving. I have though when it is cold I put the rear defroster on and it would squeal at a stop sign when I was pressing the gas. sounds like a belt but kind of louder. IT will aslo do it if the A/C is on or the fron defrosters. Kind of seems if I have a bigger drain on the car battery is when it does it. It didnt do it when it was warm out it only started doing when it was real cold below 30 degees or so.
Anyone have any suggestions
I have a 92 accord EX.

Loose Belts....no question about that one. Consider the squeal to be an early warning ....prior to getting stuck with a dead battery somewhere because the alternator is not supplying full charge

OK so if a belt is loose then why would it stop sqealing after 2 seconds or so? They were also just replaced less than 20,000 miles ago. There is 2 belts one for A/C and the other one for the accessories.
Thanks guys.

Think about the facts for a moment.
When the accessory/pulley is spinning slower then the belt, it squeaks.
So in saying that, the belt isn't grabbing right away, causing it to squeak.
Either your belt is bunk, not enough tension from the tension pulley, or your have an accessory that is starting to drag meaning it's on it's way out.

if the belt is loose it will squeek, if its tight it will squeek, u gotta get it just right.
mine is squeeking, so i make it tighter and its all gone
as long as it goes away ur fine...but if it happends while runnign then u need to tighten it

2 things to do. THis is a common accord problem from those years. I had a 87 it used to happen all the time.
1) you need to tighten the belts
2) You may need something called Belt Dressing. It comes in a aerosol can. You can find it in Autozone, or Strauss. Spray it on ya belt for lubrication and it should quiet the squealing.
do this only if your sure that you have good belts. Cuz the squealing also occurs when you need new belts.

if u have a V belt system then dont use belt dressing, it will loose its track. i believe that no hondas as far as i know use a 'v' belt, they used grooved belts.
be carefull that shit likes to fly if the car is on hahaha
