Pictures from FCMA model contest

You can find some pictures I took at the Finnish Car Modelers' Association's show/contest this weekend from HERE (http://koti.mbnet.fi/%7Emel/pienoismallit/fcma18012004/index.htm).

There were about 40-50 models in the contest and about 20 in display only. Usually there have been more but for some reason the show was more quiet this year. However there were plenty of good models, including Juha Airio's spectacular works.

I was very pleased and surprised to win the People's choice prize with my Peugeot 206WRC :)

Congrats Mikko! Deservedly so IMO. Your 206 is one of the models that deserves alot more of the votes in the AF model comp too.

And congrats for the deserved people's choise. It's difficult to win something when there are models from Juha Airio on the contest...

The show was held at Herttoniemen nuorisotalo/kirjasto. For some reason the organizers failed to tell about it too widely, I found it first by accident with google and then on the week before the show I got the club magazine with invitation to the show.

Well, so the show was in my home town but I didn't know about it... you could say that the organizers really failed to advertise... :) But I'm not a member of FCMA, so maybe it was directed to members only? The only model car shows I knew there are here have been the one at the FHRA American Car Show ( http://www.opelclubfinland.net/tapahtumat/180403/models.html the official model show and http://www.opelclubfinland.net/tapahtumat/180403/ocf/models.html the Opel model show which I organized at the same show on one department, although most of the Opel models were diecast) and the one at Tampere Hot Rod & Rock Show ( http://www.opelclubfinland.net/tapahtumat/trehrrs03/index.html ).

I believe it all had to do with the fact that the whole club was almost dying out during the last year. Now however it has new leaders and things like these should be improved in the near future.
