I remember when there was no AF !

Hell I remember the time before the Internet, before the TRS-80 was the computer of the day. When restoring a car meant looking through magazines and classified for parts or cold calling junk yards in your area for parts. And basically when you needed to ask questions or compare notes, you were limited to your local area like a car club.

Seriously though, the Internet was a God send making it so much easier to find parts and assistance like on sites like this. Where else can you sit at home and trade tips with somebody on another continent in real time and not have to wait for a response? You can find the part you need and have it overnighted to finish your project. No searching all over this green earth and then locating th eitem, only having to wait two weeks to get the part :iceslolan

Damn dude, you making me feel old!

I used to goto car shows just to look for people who might know something about the car I had, and a way to make it do this or that, or what to replace with what.

How is the Primerra?

I'm seeing fewer and fewer P10s and P11s here, seems the Japanese imports were not that long lived.

On a different note, did you used to be a Mod?

Primera is great, got a Japanese Spec VE engine in there. also as me and a couple of friends have been running UK based Primera owners club, hence spending most of my time there and not been on here for a loooong time..

nah never did get to mod level here,.

We havn't gone anywhere....... :icon16:

We got lots and lots of regular Primera's here, as well as the GT models.
Which means lots of SR18 shit boxes built to the lowest possible cost by Nissan before they went under.

There are quite a few of the post Renault Primerrors showing up now though, although they all seem to have a problem with one of the sensors on the CVT.

pretty busy, last couple of years its been growing well, online as well as with club meets and national Japanese car meets...not bad for a car that not many people give a second look to..

ah ok, totally the opposite for me, spending a lot of spare time on the car club and cars in general, suppose makes a difference when you are running one, rather than just being part of one, also gone through more cars in the last year or so then in the previous 10 odd years of driving lol all nissans as well :icon16:

It's so easy once you get into the scene to start swaping and change cars, I bet they were all Primeras though? :evillol:

I'm getting back into it now, I can't get away from it really.
And AF seems to be the best place to get back and get involved, I've never been much for Brand loyalty, All things Automotive are what get me going :smokin:

lol you be wrong there, surprisingly only 1 Primera, the one I've had from the start...

been through 2 Almeras (one converted to turbo) then a Pulsar Vzr, which then led onto VZR N1, as well as being onto my second R33 GTR..

not much to do with brand loyalty, but knowing them to be rare cars to get, specially the VZR and N1, think I have the only one in England, once I learnt about them, just had to go get one of em, and the 33 was a dream from a long time anyways

The GTR must be fantastic on the English roads.
We see a few around here, sadly there was a period where they were very cheap, so lots have been bought and badly, badly modified.

I would love to drive a VZR, especially a N1, but I always think of them as being a poor mans CTR.

ragt20
03-18-2011, 08:28 PM
can't comment on the CTR, having not driven one, but can say, was very pleasantly surprised at how good the N1 is, VZR was nice, but the N1 totally got me.

My old SiR used to run rings around VZRs, but I believe the N1 is quite different? More power, lighter, etc?

yup more power and lighter, big difference between the two. luckily for me drove te VZR first and then N1 straight after, so was very easy to have a direct comparison
