Heating Problem

I am new to this forum, so bear with me. The heater in my 2001 Ford Taurus recently started to only work with I turn it on full blast. There are three other levels to put it on such as on low, and they don't work. I saw somewhere that the problem might be the blower resistor. Can anyone help me out? And how much do you think it would cost to get it fixed?

go to your autozone and ask about a heater control switch or if there are resistors on the blower. they will be able to give you a price on the part. if it is too expensive you can usually get one at a junk yard for half price.

It soulnds like the blower resistor. The resistor is bypassed for HI. The resistor was $12 or $13 at a dealershipp. It is located in the duct behind the glove box.
