We had snow this morning, and I made the mistake of trying to clear it with power of wipers, I heard a pop and the wipers were no longer working. I still hear the motor but the the wipers are not working...any ideas?

It could be a number of problems. First in most wiper motors the gear set that drives the wiper arms is plastic (actually nylon). Trying to move snow (we don't get much of that here in Australia) may have stripped it. Second some wiper motor mechanisms have a sort of clutch which slips when the wiper arms hits something reasonably solid (such as snow). Either way you are probably up for a replacement wiper motor and/or gearbox. Try a wreckers (auto parts recycler as they like to be called nowadays).
