Leaky windshield.

My 97 jimmy leaks water on the top of the windshield inside on the dash and carpet (just sitting still or driving) is there anything i can try before i take to have a new gasket put in. any suggestions will help.

How about using a tube of silicone caulk (clear) the type used in construction, in a caulk gun (the blue metal ones) If the silicone is water soluable and placed when windshield is dry, both inside and outside...then use a damp-rag to remove excess...
If you use care...you should be able to do a good hand job...you may have to practice...but at $4.-5. a tube you have alot to practice with...Best Wishes...
