2000 Airbag Deployment

I was recently in a good sized accident with my '00 altima. I banged up the front of the car pretty good. Monstly on the left side of the front but enough so that the hood folded (a little but noticable amount), the bumber, front left quarter, radiator & compressor all need to be replaced.
My airbag did not go off. Can anyone tell me what the standard is for these to deploy. I am a little concerned as my car is a former rental and I have found out that is was in an unreported accident prior ro my ownership and I want to know if the airbag is working properly.
Any advise would be much appreciated.

I also had an accident at the same speed with the same results. Did you get any help in this matter. Thanks

i just got into an accident 6 days after buying my 2000 altima. my bags blew. they cost alot. be glad they didnt blow. but i also got hit on the right. depends on the angle they were decelerated at. the sensors in the front only blow them off if the car is slowed down really fast i.e .. crash. i had a head on whut was yours like? good luck on the subject.
