Rebuilding a 91 16V 2.0

My friend told me about this site so I'm going to try it out. I looking for any advice on rebuilding my 16V 2.0 from the ground up. I'm conifident in my ability to do so. I'm mainly looking for recommendations on performance parts and what brands are the best for the price. I just got my car in the garage and I'm getting ready to pull the engine during the next few weeks. Its the first step in completing the complete restoration of my car. I have plenty of time to get it done (about a year and half). So any advice is much appreciated. My brother just rebuilt his mitsu eclipse and it looks and sounds great but the V dub is going bury his mitso.
