I have a 1995 Honda Accord LX Coupe. Was purchased new and has been a dream.

While driving it on Friday the idle began moving 2-3000 revs constantly, very radically. At the same time the temp gauge was close to tilted. The car is my wifes and has 113,000 miles and is required for her employment.

I vaguely remember having this problem on an 1987 Accord as well. I cannot remember for the life of me what the cause was. As I said it just happend all of a sudden.

I realize the timing chain needs to be replaced, could this be failing and causing this problem?

I would appreciate any and all help. :banghead:

i'd check the around the intake manifold and seee if the hoses comin from the motor in to the bottom of the throttle body are attach and in good condition.. there should be two.. one goin in the bottom and the other in not sure.. but my 94 did the same on my swap untill i saw a busted hose goin to the throttle body to control the idle... try that..

I have more gratitude than I can say. I am humbled to see a stranger respond to me in such quick fashion, if at all.

I will garage it in the am and go through the entire area and cross my fingers to find a broken intake hose. Gotta use my 170,000BTU blower, as I live in Minnesota and it freaking freezing.

If you like I will send you a gift certificate for some beer or some such thing. You have my e-mail, just send me a reply and I wouls appreciate being able to thank you!

Kindest Regards,
DS
