Think I need to replace the water pump on my 2000 Suburban. I have heard this is a common problem on them? Have also been told to flush the coolant and refill with normal coolant? 5.3 with 80000. Thank you for any help and or answers.

What exactley are you asking? I am little confused about the question. Do you want to know how to switch the water pump for a new one or if you should replace the red coolant for the yellow coolant? Or if the water pump needs to be replaced or if they go out alot? Try to be a little more specific on your question or questions and maybe someone can help.
Also I have had to replace a few water pumps on those, but being in Flint MI they are a common engines, so I am not sure if that makes it a common problem, but if you need to know how to replace it let me know. And I would stick to the red coolant, unless you need to save some cash. If you do switch then you have to flush all the red coolant out, you cant mix them.
