Question

I don't know what the problem is. A few sites I try and reach i keep getting the same message. For instance, I was trying to surf the Dell website and when I type it in(even in Google) as 'www.dell.com' I get 'http:///%20www.dell.com'. Anyone know why this is? Any insight is appreciated.

But uhh yeah try and get the newest version of internet explorer just released a sp for 6.0........ if that don't work get Mozilla Firebird then.

%20 is the URL equivalent of a space. No idea how to solve your problem though. Maybe just try dell.com

As oz said the %20 is a space in the web address location. What web-browser are you using and operating system are you using?

Its most likely either spyware or something in your registry or something changed the characteristics of the web element (maybe the redirection locally or even the re-addressing when it being typed into the browser).

Unless you can format and reinstall, just grab yourself another broswer (mozilla, opera, netscape, etc) and use those instead.

Go to www.search411.com I believe it is, they detect spyware and tell you how to get around it and remove it. Than download netscape and forget about internet explorer.

Thanks guys! :smile: I ran Spybot S&D and it solved it. But yea, I'm gonna use Mozilla or something. I had it on here, but I don't know where it went. Oh well. Thanks again.

Spybots great, now that you know you picked up spyware somewhere try to avoid whatever website you were on, you should also set your cookie security settings to a higher security level so they can't just be pulled in from everywhere. But of course if you're going to use another browser you won't have to worry about it, most of them are more secure than IE.
