Cutlass Antenna

I recently bought a power antenna to replace the broken one on my 92 cutlass. Unfortunately, when the new antenna is plugged in, it works fine except that the motor doesn't stop running - even when the antenna is fully out.

Would anyone happen to know what I could do to fix this problem or a referral site that has information?
