I want to get a cat back swept side exhaust for my 2000 Silverado 5.3 and am concerned about how loud the different brands are. I don't want loud...I just want an increase in performance without waking the neighbors or having a droneing sound in the cabin while going down the freeway. I will be installing Edelbrock headers and already have an K&N FIPK and have opened up the MAF by removing the screen. Next week I will be getting a Superchips programmer next week.
Reading this forum has really helped me figure out just what mods I want to do...the final question is the exhaust. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Sonny

Gibson and Borla are both nice systems. I went with Borla and my truck sounds awesome. Gibson is a nice system, too. Gibson is priced considerably cheaper. Either system is nice, and not too loud. I think you would be happy with either one.

I too have Borla. It was installed in January of 2000 and has been trouble free. And of course no signs of rust. If you don't want it too loud, but still have a nice rumble go with just a muffler and not cat back. I have just a muffler and its still rather loud. But not annoying loud like Flowmaster, especially at highway speeds.
