Stick or Automatic?

I've been told and also read that if you drop a turbo its better to have Automatic.

I'm purchasing a OZ in Perl White soon, so I'm thinking of just going with the Automatic. I do alot of loooong distance driving so thats making me not want it also.

What do you guys think? I'd like some input.

Going for the Standard, you take your automatic to the track (not dragstrip but the real track) and you will get laughed at. I would get the ES unless you like to pay way to much for the stock wheels and body kit. I like to OZ, but for the price i have to pay to get stuff that i am going to just take off anyways, I dont see why i should. The only advantage i see with getting a OZ is the Tiptronic Transmission.

If you are going to add a TURBO onto a AUTOMATIC.. it is no use.. you will lose in drag races and others.. yea seriously people will laugh at you.

Stick shift is much cheaper and will be much faster with a turbo.

Actaully i made up my mind....

I'm gettin a OZ in Auto and im not doing any work to it besides new rims.... and maybe some cheap cosemtic shit

I found out from a good sourse that the Evo is probably comin end of 2002, which is good cuz ill just trade it in or something.

....This is what i thought...
They probably brought out this Lancer to make a name for the car. I mean not many ppl know about the Evo or the Lancer at all. SO, i believe this is just a way to push the Evo once its out, cuz they can say "The New Turbo Charged Lancer" yatta yatta yatta...The main reaction i get from ppl about a Evo or even a Lancer is "huh?"

Just a idea i had why its watered down....

Oh, and about making the payments...I Spoke to the dealer, and im gettin a 3 Year Fiancer 0%... its like 400 something a month which isnt bad considering my insurance is like 100 bux a month...

Ill have some flics once i get my new rims, i wanna get the OZ F1 Cups.

Good choice in rims, I'm going to get those rims in 17". Those are the slate grey/obsidion colored ones right. Or maybe its the F1 Corsa Cups I'm thinkin of. Any way, good rims. Had a set of 16" F1 cups on my eclipse, they were polished silver. About the payments, I got that deal to, on the OZ edition, I payed es price on my OZ, 2nd one sold in the state, not the third, They shipped the blue(2nd) one out of state. They made me a really good deal, it pays to now the dealer.

In a performance car automatic transmission is never better. Automatic transmission is for people who see a car as something to get them from A to B. If you want the best from a car in terms of acceleration, breaking and handling you have to be in control of what gears and revs the car is at. You can only do this with manual transmission (stick).

If you do a lot of long distance driving having an auto gives you no advantage at all. When travelling long distances at a steady speed you stay in one gear all the time anyway. Autos are only an advantage when you go up and down gears a lot. The "advantage" being that you don't need to do anything, the disadvantage meaning you are only getting 80% from your car.

Auto is good in a drag race, with a nice shift kit, you get very good shifts. any other racing or regular driving, autos bite nuts like a hungry squiral

Evo 7.5 aka GT-A has been spec'ed with INVECS-II auto transmission. I guess Mitsu has to do something to make the car appeal to a wider audience in order to help out with its financial situation.

Cheers.

Auto is good in a drag race

If you're not a very good driver maybe. With manual trans you can hold the car at the desired revs and change gear when you reach the optimum point, and also probably change gear faster. The thing is, with manual you have the choice. You can do fast changes that are hard on the clutch of you want to drag to downshift on a track....but you can also do steady changes for town driving. You don't have the flexibility with an auto.

Its been confirmed from a goooood source.

2002 4th Quarter...

I Just got my Lancer in perl white, i love it, and yes i got it in auto.

I'm using it for "point a to b" as some would say. Its a nice car for a good price.

I plan on giving this to my dad to take over payments and then I'm gettin the evo.

Christ i cant wait anymore.
