ok, i just decoded my build sheet on my 1989 IROC camaro and im supposed to have six way power adjustable front seats. and yet, mine are manual. so im thinking someone swappd them out. i am in the process of resto-moding the car, and would like it to have all the original options. does anyone know where i can get the power adjustable seat frames??? id like to put in new ones, rather than ones that have been in the junk yard and more likely than not, exposed to the elements. but i can always rebuild them if thats where i gotta go. just figured that id get ya'lls two cents on the issue. oh and because im sure someone will ask, yes im sure the build code is accurate, and i have the power seat plug under the driver seat, havent checked the passenger side.

Does anybody know how to fix the leaning seats in an 87' z??? (You know how you are pretty much laying in the back seat)

I'de get em' from a junk yard and have them re-covered.. If its just cloth, it would be fairly in-expensive..
Dont bother checkin' the passenger side for PS wiring.. it isnt there!

I don't think you could ever order these cars w/ TWO power seats.

Will a 4th gen power seat base work with a 3rd gen car. I know you can put the 4th gen seats in a 3rd gen with no mods.

yeah they bolt right in, you have to re wire the plug on the harness though. the third gen and fourth gen plugs are different even though its just a power and ground essentially. ive looked into that actually, havent really decided. definately like fourth gen seats better than third gen.

If you do decide to go with 4 gen seats, I would suggest ones out of a 96. 96 had it's own seat pattern and it looks better than the ones from 93-95 and 98-02..... That's my opinion.

Are your Red two-tone seats custom??

Nope they are GM. It's called flame red in the brochure. My car originally had dark gray leather, but it was not in the greatest of shape. So I got on ebay and found these covers. They were new car take-offs off of a 96 Z28 conv... He took them off to put leather on, and they have been sitting in his garage since 96.

You could have got the flame red interior in a plain jane camaro in 96. It wasn't just a z28 option. In fact you could have got the flame red seats in the earlier years too. I almost bought a 95 Z28 that had the flame red seat covers.

Here's what the 96 pattern looks like.

Oh, ok, my 96 had the Graphite... but the red is crazy. What if you wanted just plain interior, not the two-tone?
