if you're just buying the motor.... yes. It should work without any problems

Yep, Everything should work fine. I'm sure 95gsxracer can give you a detailed description on how to do it when he gets back from his honeymoon.

I'm in the army. Currently deployed to kosovo

The auto engine will ahve a flex plate on it and you will have to put a flywheel on it instead. And that may be it, but cant say for sure unless someone was ther to help.

Good luck with the engine.

how hard will it be to change the flex plate

Some bolts to take off. It is what the tourque converter gets bolted to.

And as long as you use the same manual ECU and wiring and such i dont see a problem.

You would most likley be able to swap over all the parts but you have to be carful that all the specs of the motor are still within spec.

how do i find out if the specs are the same?

you have to measure them. You should go and order a shop manual and it will tell you what specs you should measure and what the spec is for those measurments.

i was told that the 95 4g63 was the same as the 97 4g63

Yup the motor is the sdame, but the way it wears is not. You are putting worn components into a new block or worn components into a used block. Eather way it will have different wear on the different components. Just make sure everything is in spec, otherwise you will be in some serious trouble.
