What Amp Do I need: advice please?

Someone gave me an old but unused JL Audio 12 inch sub (12W3-D2). All I know is that it is a 250w Dual 2 Ohm sub. I know nothing. What range in watts can I use to amp this thing and what is an ohm and how do I know that the amp I get is the proper one? :smokin:

I would wire the sucker in series to a 250w rms subwoofer. There is a thread on here a few back about ohms...

Find an amp that can do ~300rms into a 1 or 4ohm load. Your best bet (since it's so little power) will probably be to find a 2 channel that puts out around 300 bridged into 4ohm. Any amp that does around 80x2 should fit this requirement.
