Santa came early, so trying out a Garmin map76. Don't think I've seen one mounted in this position.

I decided to add this to my steelhorse console, just a few test runs to do, but its locked in pretty solid. Closed, its the same height as my armrest.

I have the Garmin Map GPS76 also, and I love it. Interesting way how you mounted it to the dash. I had to mount it to the top. As it is now, I need to rotated the holder forward to clear the windshield when I'm removing it.

The best part about the unit is you can customize the screen to show you any of the readings it takes (dozens if I remember correctly). The screen is big enough so that I can show four measurements (compass, altitude, speed and distance traveled) and still see the map.

Now if Garmin would come out with a case that I can attach to my backback and still get a reception. The only one they have fully encloses the unit.

Looks like your running the "Law Enforcement" edition..... All you need now are some lights up top and a security shield between the front and rear seats.

Hella 19" Flex. map light ( comes with clear & red filter, switched to red to light up the keyboard ) No holes were drilled for install. Installed the base of the light on a metal plate, slipped the plate between the bottom side edge of the radio console using the existing screw. Wired to cig lighter.
Pic might help

I think I may go that route instead of the Coolerman cup light.
