Just a quick update guys. I will be getting married tomorrow (finally), so I Wont be around for a while. I get a lot of PM and email from you guys, and I dont want you to think you are being ignored :) COntinue to send it, I just wont be able to answer for a few days. I just went through and got caught up on all the threads finally...
In other news, I picked up a truckload of parts from SBR yesterday. I will probably set aside this thursday to replace my tranny input shaft seal, build up the new motor, asmemble everything and get the car running. Friday I should have it roughly tuned, and should have some new airflow data as well as other information. I'll be sure to post the results, and perhaps a short video of the new antilag setup included in DSMlink Version 2.

Whenever you get back, you should either put here, or in a 'before new block update' thead, your current turbo :) just to clarify it to me.
I know you have an "M14", so that's like a 7cm 20g turbine housing and the biggest compressor found on GT30's, and that is 56 trim, or 60?
I'm confused.. Why did you choose not to go with the 60-1 compressor? Or was it that you wanted a better turbine than the 2.16'' / 2.36'' on the standard GT14?

your car is a lucky girl! [j/k]... Congrats!!! it's a huge step [even though it scares the hell out of me at this point in my life!!] i hope everyone realizes that his time dedicated to the learning of all us other dsmers is now comming to a screeching halt, so try to do some of your own research [notice how Kevin dropped all those sites then runs off and gets married? ;)]... i can see it now: " 'hang on honey, i gotta correct this newbie about the differences on turbos again' 'but my feet hurt' 'but...' 'i said MY FEET HURT!!!' '[thought: i guess you guy's come after the feet now!!!]' " ;)
but really... isn't life great? and yours just got even better... Congrats again...

Lol, some good replys guys. :D The wedding went well. It was done in true POSr style, quick and simple. I had a hard time not thinking about the car the whole time, believe me. Closing on the mortgage on the new place wednesday is taking up some brain space as well. But its all good once I fire the POS up again ;) The wife came after the car, so she has never known life without it. Shes already used to my BS, and has already granted "permission" to put it back together this week, lol.
Thanks for all the replies guys. :)

Cant pass up a chance to talk turbos, of course ;) So the complete breakdown of my turbo is as follows. Regular mitsu 7cm turbine housing. TDO6H turbine wheel. GT30/40 "hybrid" compressor wheel (56 trim, also used in the GT35R by the way). The same compressor cover used in the "M" series SBR turbos, and the FP red/green. Its a modified TDO6 cover, I believe sometimes called the "cyclone" cover.
So this turbo was actually a "M50" at one point. A TDO6 50 trim with the same housings. Mike and I wanted to upgrade it, and use something besides the typical 60-1. A great wheel, but so many people run it, includind my friend Chad (on the POSr site). No need for us to run the same wheels. So we decided to put the "GT14" wheel in there, and go to the larger H turbine wheel to let it breathe. Mitsu is known for very good turbine wheels for thier size and spool. The TDO6H and 7cm combo has run 9s for reference (red).
It seems like a great combo, but since I havent been able to get boost over 25 psi I cant prove it one way or the other. Which is why I am not upgrading the turbo again until I get a fair and square dyno run for the turbo. That means over 30 psi and an aftermarket intake manifold. I may or may not still have this turbo when the track opens, but if I do, the antilag addition to DSMlink will help me get a decent ET with it. But I am not specificly holding out for the track. I have another idea I would like to try and the turbo will be getting sold (with a fresh rebuild), probably with the manifold, dumptube, and O2 housing. Starting new from the ground up for the turbo. ;) If I dyno over my goals (in about a month), the turbo will go for sale right away. I havent mentioned this anywhere else, so I guess you guys have the inside line if anyone wants it. :D I dont discuss my plans much on the other boards these days for some reason...

I was in portland, OR. Equipment training for work. More like a weeks paid vacation with 50 bucks a day for food and beer, new car, and hotel room. BAck now though. Unfortunately my head has not arrived, so the car is still collecting dust.

Its good to have you back. Did you just have your head rebuilt or did you have some/more porting and pollishing???
kjewer1

I did the porting. Mild porting really. Polished exhaust side and combustion chamber. I sent it out for the valve job, 1mm over, guide replacement, and resurface.
