hey guys, im in a bind. i got all the parts to fix my IROC and finally, FINALLY get it on the road. only one piece missing. the last guy who had this car cut the cat out and welded in a strait pipe and also welded the air tube strait into this pipe. runing it. i now have a complete new exhaust, headers, cat and flowmaster catback system. but untill i can hook that air pipe back up, it wont pass emmisions, and thus, aint on the road. hence the problem, its discontinued, i work at a dealership and cant get it lol. does anyone know an aftermarket company that would have this? or am i stuck crawling around the junkyard looking for one??

Is there any way to very carefully cut it real close to the old pipe and reuse it? Oh another thought.... I have a buddy with a few third gens just sittin around. All stock plane jane stuff. I could look and see if he has a good one if you want.

thanx guys, it wasnt that bad to be honest, but i wouldnt wish it on anyone. not to many emmotions, he was my dads nephew who i had never met. so it wasnt that hard on me, but it was weird how similar we were, as family memebers who had never met, i could have moved into that condo as it was and felt perfectly at home. kinda makes ya think ya know. but he died peacfully in his sleep. so it wasnt to hard on his parents. something to be thankfull for ya know?? anyhoo, such is life ya know??? now back to the IROC :)

I was stuck in a similar situation in NOV. I bought an 89 Iroc with 305. The guy I bought it from had taken the cat off and put a straight pipe, the air tube was cut but not put into the exhuast, currently it serves no purpose at all. I took it to e check but failed miserably(without cat). I bought a catco 2.5in universal cat for like 70 bucks. All I did was cut out the straight pipe and slide the cat on, I paid really no attention to it because there wasn't really anything I could do. So I go to e check with the air tube just sitting open to the outside, not doing a damn thing, the car was super clean. The cat made all the difference. Failed portion of the first run was 1.23% on CO when the limit is .94%. When i took it back with the cat it ran .00%. Everything else was super clean as well. I don't think you have to worry about the air tube, unless your station is really thorough.
