Some people may find this high offensive, maybe too extreme, so I dunno if it will last. I just wanna say that I am not a racist in any way, nor do I hate anybody because of their ethnicity, race, skin color, denomination, etc.
But I am so fucking sick of these "gangsta niggas". I guess thats the correct term. Most of them are black, and theres a lot of white guys that fall into this catergory as of late. If you've gone to a public high school in the past 5 years, you know who I'm talking about. They wear their 5 sizes too big jeans at their knees, they wear about 7 layers of shirts and jackets and hoodies, and almost always have some sort of cheap sterling silver chain on.
They talk about 30 decibels louder than normal people, especially the women. After school, forget talking at the local mcdonalds, as soon as a bunch of these women walk, its like talking above a muffler modification on a civic.
Have you ever seen 2 of them get into a fight? The short, smartass one smacks the tall thug, and runs off laughing as the thug chases after him, pushing everyone in their way, including one of our deans. I'm trying to get to my fucking class, you know, so I can actually get a salary job when I'm 25 and not a fucking bagging job at the local grocery store. Move outta my fucking way.
Forget the fast food places after school, forget the fights in the hallway, the worse spot is in the atrium before school. They all gather there, and walking through it is like a fucking gauntlet. They always stop and "harrass" (sp) a bunch of white kids. The one time I got stopped by one of the fuckers, I shoved him outta my way and I guess I scuffed his piece of shit jacket or something. Of course they had to start something, getting in MY face calling me a white boy and cracker (despite my hispanic ethnicity). Fuck you, you fucking racist. Anyone other then a black person or white person wearing their clothes, obviously is a racist biggot, out to oppress their fucking "culture"
Don't give me this oppression bullshit, I didn't oppress shit. Of anyone that has any right to attack my culture are the Aztecs, Mayans, and Incans. Get outta my fucking face about this oppression bullshit.
And what is this "culture" they speak of? All I see are a bunch of rich suburban black guys blowing their parents cash on dirty girls and XXXL clothing. Don't give me this fucking culture bullshit. You know SHIT about your culture and history. How can you act oppressed when you have no idea what Malcolm X, MLK jr, Frederick Douglass, Robert Hayden, and several others did and died for you. For what? So you can act like fucking idiots in public? You fuckers deserve to die, not your fallen leaders. They didn't die so you could make a laughing stock out of your culture, inadvertingly oppressing your own race. Thats right.
I have a friend who's black skinned. Who cares. He doesn't act like a jackass, he doesn't where messed up clothing, he's just a normal guy like the rest of us. He doesn't harrass kids in the halls, he doesn't shout when he talks, and he doesn't give me this oppression bullshit. On his band's website he has the best quote, "I'm black, but that doesn't make me a nigger".
Theres plenty of perfectly acceptible black skinned people in this world, and I feel truly sorry for them. Their next generation acting like such bullshitters, destroying over 50 years of civil rights work to end up like this "gangsta thug nigga" whatever the fuck they are.
And don't get me started on their fucking speech. TALK SO PEOPLE CAN FUCKING UNDERSTAND YOU. No wonder people don't take them seriously, they can't understand a fucking word of what you're saying, "joe".
Sorry, but I just had to get that off my chest. I've gotten so fucking sick of seeing this bullshit in school day after day. Again, if I really offended someone, mods, take this down ASAP, and I apologize.

I'm not sure that I'm allowed to comment seeing as I am "Whitey", but...
All I can say is, regardless of skin color, we'll see where your gangsta clothes, badass attitude, poor grammar and crude speech get you in the real world. Once it stops being cool and trendy, it's simply career/success poison- unless you become a rapper. So hang in there, man and do your thing regardless...that kid who got in your face will be filling the tank of your E-Class some day.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. I've gone to school with 'thugs' since 6th grade. I actually got shoved on the ground by one for no reason. Well, acutally it was b/c I was white. But then he just turned and left. However, I have also been friends with quite a few of them as well. Some do act like complete jack-asses, but when it comes down to it a lot are actually good people. They may talk in 'ebonics' or slang and appear to be dumb as a brick, but are actually quite intelligent.
Walking home from school my freshman year, a black kid jumped out of a car and ran at us and we didn't know what to do. And he started mumbling that he needed us to jump him so he could get in a gang. We just kept walking saying that's ok. Then he just turns and punches my friend and his nose busts open. It was pretty scarey. Those kind of people are worthless and I have no respect or pity on.
The biggest problem is not neccessarily rap music, but the NAACP and Rainbow Coalition. These organizations do nothing but keep racism alive, and do nothing to help the situation. There are tons of black kids out there who find it insulting to have supposed 'points' to help them get into college. Many would rather get into a college based on their hard work and dedication to school. Instead of getting a 'hand out'.
In ending, I'm sorry you have to deal with crap like that at your school. But I hope this doesn't hurt your view towards others b/c of the way they dress. But by reading your post I believe your a smart person and can see past the b.s. :2cents:

Good post. Black, white, green, fucking purple, your skin colour doesn't matter. We all bleed the same shade of red.
This thread will stay open unless it gets out of hand. This thread rocks people, anyone tries to spoil it with any of their racist crap, you'll be suspended for a week.
Carry on :)
I'd like to hear some more points of view. I've also dealt with racists like this who decide to use their skin colour to try and force an issue. I have lots of non white friends, be they black, indian, maori, whatever, and none of them seem to think that skin colour makes a bee's dick of difference to how they should treat other people.

I find no offense eversio11, in fact I totally agree with you:smile:
I saw it every day when I was in High School, and I still see it when I take the T to my College. More and more do i see it especially around Ashmont and a lot of it is on the Orange line...If these people could step outside of their shoes for a second and look at themselves making a mockery of themselves and their surroundings, I wonder if they would change, it is definately not great to see this ignorant lifestyle and it both saddens and angers me at the same time. I am a black male in society and i do not act like this, because of my choice not to act ignorant, throughout high school I was constantly made fun of because i don't "act black" now I'm sorry but if "acting black" consists of humiliating myself by acting extremely ignorant, dressing in clothes that are ill-fitting/horribly expensive and adding to the horrible stereotype of the inner-city youth, then definately count me out. so what if I listen to all kinds of music instead of just Rap? So what if my hair isn't nappy, and I brush it backwards instead of forwards? I don't think of myself as just a black male, but as an individual. a unique individual who isn't railroaded into "acting black" by ignoramuses who think that as long as they have clothes that match, the world will keep spinning. I found it quite amusing that i'm a black male being told that I was "acting white"...I also find it funny that the ones who told me that I was "acting white" never graduated High School by means of either repeating the same grades over and over or that they just dropped out.....

Around these parts it's more a problem of white guys who think they're 'gangstas', in the gang sense and/or in the rapper-gangster sense. However, a lot of them learn quickly that their place is to keep up an image and not act like a true gangster that deals, carries a gun, etc. Usually they learn this after they fuck with people that don't profess themselves as gangsters, people who just seem average but are in fact influencial figures that hold moderate to large power but don't go around using it to feed their ego or get famous.
Anyway, after relating it to the Melbourne equivalent, I can safely say that I agree with you completely on the issue at hand.

Eversio11, I find nothing in this post offensive. Not a single word of it.
I am in complete agreement with everything you said. I may be black, but unlike the rest of my generation I'm trying to get myself a college education and high paying job in the future as well and they just seem to make those of us who are trying to better ourselves look worse. I have friends from all different races and they all know each other and get along with each other. what bothers me is that if a black person opens his ears to different types of music(techno & rock to be more specific) and start wearing different clothes(Jnco Jeans); they consider me to be some kind of freak. I say kiss my ass and deal with it.
Over the past 3 months I've turned my back on those who will not accept me for being unique. They shouldn't be mad just because Someone decides to open their minds to other things. To any & all people: Open your minds to other things! There's more to life than the rap media and all this other "thugged out" b.s. that they think is cool. If you open your mind and your ears(and eyes for those who don't read the newspaper or watch the news); you'll be surprised at what you can learn and experience.
Just think: If MLK Jr. and Malcom X could see how most of their work was in vain. I don't know about the rest of them, but I will not let their work be in vain. I too, share the dream where every race can join hand in hand and live together without any problems, but they just don't realize it yet.
This is only half of my opinion(the rest would take forever to type out).
P.S: They should really try to be unique. When one person gets 24"s, they all get 24"s. That's real unique. Damn shitmobile driving assmonkies...

I would like to know what educated black individuals think of someone like Rev. Sharpton. Here is a man with criminal record, poor education and comical demeanor striving to represent the black community. The only weapon in his arsenal seems to be reproach. Dean is a racist, you're a racist, they are racists...but nothing of any substance. Do black people respect this man? Is this how black people feel about the white community? To be frank, I don't think white people spend one iota as much time worrying about oppressing blacks as he would like you to believe. :grinno:

Sharpton? isn't that the guy who spread poop all over a girl and incited a riot? :sly:
Anyways, my views are basically kindof parellel with most of the posts here...I went to middle school and high school in Indinapolis, and the whole time I was there, I had an uncanny almost equal amount of white friends and black friends...I befriended gang members and other "thugs" as you would call them, and realized their that way because of their environments they grew up in. (You try to grow up in the projects and not be that way.)
I was raised by my parents to respect all cultures and ethnicities, and that no matter who we are, we basically want the same things in life...My views were enhanced when I started taking racial issues courses and found how many crimes (other than slavery) were put upon the minorities and how hard they had to fight to get the same rights as I do, and how there still is racism stuck in the system today as in the ways of trying to get a house or a job.

To me, I don't really care for Al Sharpton, because of the fact that he just doesn't seem all that serious in anything that he does. if one were to turn on the television and seesome of the moves that he's done in the past, one would feel embarrased for his actions....i mean come on standing behind Michael Jackson when Michael was calling the ceo of sony records Tommy Mattola a racist and a bigot....and those accusations didn't really seem to add up ........not to mention that really you only hear of Al Sharpton alot on BET's Nightly News...alot of the other news channels don't really seem to talk much about him.....
oh yeah and Fearless Racer...I'm totally agreeing with what you're saying because that's how it was with me in high school

thats why u otta have your own crew for when they come around
when i was in middle school....i was walking home....these 2 black guys jumped me for no reason.... i had my heavy backpack on, so i could not do much... :( , they threw me on the ground and tried to knee my head, but i blocked with my hands, then i went hoem and played playstation :(
then the next day i told my big cousins and they took care of it :)
all i have to say to u is just try to go on about yourself till u get out of high school....cuz those people most likely will not change

This has nothing to do with 'thugs' and everything to do with being in hs and dealing with the shitty stuff in hs. Every high school has cliques, some are more emphasized than others, but every high school has them. Get used to it, they are people and you will work with quite a few on your way up, or down. Also, realize that the more someone acts it up, the more they are trying to cover something up.

I agree with you eversio. I actually saw more of that in my middle school, and it annoyed the hell out of me. We dont get a whole lot of that other stuff in my high school though. We usually see these guys getting their asses beat by a girl during lunch, which is insanely funny. Last year, however, one of the 'gangstas' in my high school thought it would be a good idea to squeeze my girlfriend's ass a few times. I went up to him during lunch and told him to not fucking do it again, then he got up in my face trying to act 'gangsta'. My girlfriend got between us, and he pushed her out of they way...big mistake...nobody pushes my girl. Right when he did that I planted a right hook right in his jaw.

Wow, I'm glad my post was met with such understanding and calamity :)
Another thing I left out was the fact that these people I'm talking about didn't grow up in the projects, or on the streets. They grew up in Naperville, IL, one of the richest and fastest growing cities in the nation. Of course, I live in Aurora, IL, with downtown Aurora being a shithole. I can't really comment on the thug gangsta whatevers that grow up in downtown Aurora, or in much worse places, I'm only complaining about these poser rich boys wearing $400 outfits to school everyday.
And the worst part? Their parents will CONTINUE to pay for all their shit through the rest of high school, college, and maybe a little beyond. Then when the money flow ceases, they won't have a fucking clue what to do. How bout you go "live on the streets" and be a "thug". Yeah, I'd like to see that.
Fearless and Hogie, I'm glad you understand my ideas and I hold high respect for you two, not entering this incredibly useless trend. As far as I can tell, you guys know your roots and understand what it means to be able to live in America. If only other Americans, be them white, black, asian, whatever, understood what freedom is.
Texas, I'll agree, not all of these gangsta thugs are really as bad as they lead people to believe, in fact I talk to several throughout the course of the day. I'd be able to stand them if they took of their masks and stopped this bullshit charade.

Texas, I'll agree, not all of these gangsta thugs are really as bad as they lead people to believe, in fact I talk to several throughout the course of the day. I'd be able to stand them if they took of their masks and stopped this bullshit charade.

I believe my friends mom put it best about 'gangsta' clothing. It's expensive to dress trashy.

They always get what's coming to them, believe me... It reminds me of that Budweiser (I think) commercial. A bunch of wiggers are walking around all tough and they come to pass a group of well dressed black men. They stop acting thug-life and the black guys just laugh at them. :D

i must agree...Where I work is a nice place but the mall is right in the middle of the ghetto...I have thugs come in all the damn time! I can never understand what the hell they say! And what is that whole ebonics crap??... y can't they just learn proper english...they are already half way there... they just need to learn where to place the words in the sentence. Everytime I see thugs i just roll my eyes.... I've had them yell at me cause I was watching them in the store & they think that i'm being racist.... if you think about it.. I'm working..that means i have to look around & keep and eye out if someone IS going to steal.... so if i see someone that is looking at me everytime i glance over..... wouldn't you think there is something shady goin on...I've even had some lady ask me "Is it cause i'm black?" All I asked was for an ID when she paid cause i have to...its store policy (we have signs that say it too!!!) Its people like that that are the racist ones... and it pisses me off! And must they hang out at the gas station with there thuged out buicks blocking the way....... I sat there for 5 minutes running out of gas waiting for them to move! Then once I get to pump gas some dude comes up to me & tries to sell me shit! Next time I get told i'm a racist i'm going to show them the damn picture of my now ex that was black (well rican really but he was dark..anyways) ...and just agree with them....
thank you thats my time

I agree with your post and it is very sad in this day and age that people are such bigots and racists to practice such an idiotic trait.
I'm African-American and I hate those kinds of idiots because some people will think that those types represent all of us, when in reality those people are the true minority who represent no one except themselves.
I'm not trying to say that I'm any better than the next person but I will not act like a total a$$ nor will I dishonor the memory and legacy of the pioneers who went before us by stooping to their level.
I would like to ask on their behalf for your forgiveness for those people because I wouldn't want you to think that all of us (African-Americans) would treat you in that manner.
It is so said that this so called "Thug" and "Ghetto" mentality is being pushed off as "Culture" in today's society. When I was growing up in the "hood" 99.9% of the Black, Puerto Ricans and Mexicans were trying to get the hell out of the ghetto and away from that mentality.
To think that today you have these "Wannabees" frontin like they are from the hood and that they are hard is funny to me. I'll tell those punk a$$ buppies in a minute that they ain't from the hood and that they don't know the first thing about being from there.
You see in reality the real people from their don't act like you see today with this so called ghetto or thug mentality, you wouldn't even necessarily know that we were from there unless we told you so.
I really don't see anything in that whole sham of an act to glorify, wearing their pants all half off their a$$es and acting like they're hard.
Pluuueazze, give me a break, those punks will get smacked down if they came up in my era.

Yeah i know what you mean by that stuff, we all are humans arent we? Only thing thats different is the colour of our skin.
But as far as the things you said the clothing people where whatever they want and they will but if you need to back up the "gangsta look" with some "gangsta talk" man , frankly, youre an idiot.
All my friends are all of mixed ethicity and i dont take shit from anybody about racism.

$400? :screwy: That's a tad bit too much for an outfit...
Thank God for those of us who have jobs... :iceslolan

Thanks man. It's the same way here in Florida(maybe worse? who knows...), so I know what it's like.

I hear you too. I love rap, but I knowwhen to turn on the "accent" and turn it off. I listen to bluegrass too, so there can be a twang every now and then too. I don't think the dress should bother you so much. Being loud, sure. Being physically intimidated or assaulted? Never. You should break that motherfucker's jaw if he ever fucks around like that again. Self defense. I got jumped in high school once by a "black" gang.(Isay black cuz they only allowed black people in) One broken nose, a couple of missing teeth, and a black eye later, they had learned not to fuck with this bull EVER again. You may lose, but make sure they look like they were in a train wreck when you're finished. Holler,

Completely agree with you. I would post my opinion but it is considered racist despite all my black, mexican and asian friends. I took a Criminal Justice class and we had to study urban/suburban juvenile behavior and our instructor made us watch this funny ass tape. It was called Bangin' in Little Rock. It was bout (wannabe) gangsters in Little Rock Arkansas. I laughed my ass off through the whole thing. You couldnt imagine their accentswith their thug talk. They were like "Im gunna busta cap in yer punk ass with my pappys 12 gauge." No lie, these guys had like deer rifles and shotguns their dads hunted birds with. Tanks for reminding me of this video i need the laugh.

I'm sorry to hear about that. But at least you had somebody. At least you had a feeling of warmth that comes with knowing that you have someone that cared about you. At least you had someone to care for. I honestly don't know why people complain about how their relationship didn't work out. There are some people out there that haven't had a relationship in a long time *cough*me*cough* and for them to always hear people complaining about their relationships, it sucks. All of my friends always talk to me about their girlfriends or their boyfriends. They talk about how happy they are, or the little problems they are facing. When I sit with my friends at lunch I'm left out of the conversations that are going on around me, simply because I can't relate to them. For the past year and a half no girl has shown any interest in me. It's really starting to get to me now. So instead of being upset about your relationship of a year and a half, put yourself in my shoes. Try being single for a year and a half and going through the same thing I am still going through. Then you should realize that you don't have it bad at all.

.....Sorry about that. I just needed to get that off my chest. I truly am sorry about your relationship. I hope you feel better

I agree, with everything that has been said, I am in no way racist, sexist, watever else there is, but i tottally agree, these ppl need to act there age not there dick size, and maybe pull up there pants while there at it, i find it rather embarrasing to have people like this represent my school when they are at Away sports events, although being a reneck/hick town/area, the kids taht wear there pants around there ankles are shunned. on my first day in grade nine, an aquentence of mine got his ass whipped by 4 guys with leather belts, none the less his ass was very bloody, and he had several stitches, i sort of agree with what happend although the sever and brutal beating was not neccisary, but when i see another guys ass (undershorts) hanging out i take it as disrespect to myself and my female friends, I DONT WANT TO SEE YOUR ASS! (unless its a beutiful girl, with a nice bubble and thong :iceslolan ), so make sure your pants are around your waist not your knees.

Little Rock has the 5th highest rate of violent crime per capita of any city in the country. And a shot gun is a hell of a lot more dangerous than most handguns.

It's actually both. That was my last relationship. Beginning of freshman year to be exact (I'm a sophomore), and it is now feb. of 2004, making it a year and a half (roughly) of being single.

Wow.. I feel like an idiot :p I originally had "calmness" down, but I felt that didn't sound like a word at all.
Pod, where in Naperville did you used to live? I've been looking at the weather across the country, and I thought -15 wind chill was bad, but Minnesota.. ouch!
