I have Bose speakers in my car and i want to get a new head unit. Im told the only way to do this is to buy all new speakers. First of all is this true? I was told by a friend that since they run at 2 ohm and not four that i could just by an amp to run the speakers and repalce the head unit then. WOuld this work?
If the amp idea wont work and i need to replace the speakers. I need to get 4 6.5 in speakers and two tweeters. Im just trying to take suggestions on what to get. Any help is appreciated.

I'd get all new stuff. I think they are 2 ohm btw.

Bose speakers have mini individual amps in each of them, so the impedence of each speaker is a moot point since you cannot run them without a Bose headunit and you cannot use a Bose headunit to run anything other than Bose speakers. If you want to replace anything you're going to have to replace EVERYTHING, including wiring.

some where around like 500-700 for the speakers and amp and preferably a head unit but thats not important. I am also taking suggestions on the head unit.

I would suggest the alpine 9807 headunit and some cdt speakers with a profile amp.

whats the difference between coaxial, braxial, two way and three way speakers?

Coaxial is 2 way, braxial is 3 way. Coaxial, midrange/tweeter. braxial midrange/midbass/tweeter. COMPONENT or braxial is the way to go in my book, lol.

not exactly
coaxial is a 2 or 3way "all in one" speaker, with a shaft coming up through the center of the woofer to house the mid/tweet

braxial is kind of a combination of a coax and component, the woofer and tweeter are separate speakers and there is no hole in the center of the woofer. Instead, the tweeter is mounted on the rim of the woofer and hangs over the center, that way you don't lose the midbass by putting a hole in your woofer, but you still have the simplicity of a single-speaker install

components are 2 or 3 completely separate speakers that you install in separate locations
