This is going to be the first model I have ever done, and I would figure I would document it for a couple reasons.

1) So noobs like me don't always make the same mistakes.
2) So that I can get good advice, and a good finished product at the end!

So here are the peices laid out. I haven't bought any supplies yet today, but I am going to. I think I am going to paint the bug a sea green. What do you think? I will be going to get some xacto knives and super glue(is that what I should get?) a little later today.

Xacto knife, superglue, plastic cement, and a file. That will get you started. Use the plastic cement on the majority of the construction, it melts the plastic and "welds" it together, the bond is immensely strong. The file can be any sort, a good kind to start with is an emery board (the laminated paper file girls use on their fingernails, cheap and come in a box of 5-10 or something) because it is coarse on one side and not as coarse on the other. And when you think, "Gee, such and such a tool would be nice," get it! You'll be much happier in the long run. It's been my experience that no tool ever gets "used just once and put away" like girlfriends insist will happen.

Thanks a ton! I will be picking up paint, primer, and various tools tomorrow at lunch or after work since there is a good hobby shop down the road from where I work...Tooo bad there are NO shops near where I live...I am throwing around opening a franchise now ;)
