it all depends on how much money your willing to spend and how fast you want to go.

im going b16 also NA, ive spent roughly $2,000 on mods not including the cost of the motor, ill prolly only be running 13.9's too.

so its all about budget

It depends on what you've done, but only 13.9? This could just be another Honda myth, but I heard someone ran a 13.7 with a stock b16 in a gutted rex. Possible?

13.7 with a stock b16 yeah right.Throw in a b18c1, awesome driver, no traction problems, and perfect RT and you could run 13's. I know for a fact with a good driver you can throw a b18c1 into a CRX and run instant 14's with just an intake.I've seen it done many a times.

You can run 'instant' high 14's with a B16.

In WHAT? Maybe just maybe in a completely gutted rex. But not in a normal civic or crx. You'd be runnin mid 15's.

Having never driven a b16'd rex myself, I don't have any personal evidence to support high 14's. I've heard mid-low 14's with bolt-ons, so I figured high 14's could be had stock. I'm just going off of what other people have said. Mid 15's just seems a bit high. Do you have a CRX?

i have alot of mods done to my crx b16 to hopefully run the 13.9

but ive seen on a completly stock crx, only thing done was complete gut-out of the interior ran a 14.4.

with a 2400lbs car with a jdm b16 you should be able to run a at least 15.0, so basically in a crx you should be in the high 14's or mid 14's.

I hope when you say completely stock that we're still talking about a b16....i dont believe that d15 or d16 will ever run 14's STOCK no matter how gutted the rex is.

Throw in some CTR pistons, and cams and call it a day. A short tranny would help too.

Nah I don't have a CRX but the lowest I've ever heard a stock SIR or SIR-II motor running in a completely stock car is a low 15. Gut out the car, you drop .2, maybe .3 seconds. Thats in a Civic. In a Rex, probably a high 14 stock, probably round a 14.5-6 gutted. A 14.4 is possible tho.

Hello, can you here me in the back.
ecumatt wants to know what he can do with his b16 and he seems to need a towel to dry his ears or something.

Just to get you started.... if your going na your looking for a high copmression (high reving) engine. So here are the questions; How much money do you want to put in, how much juice do you want to get out, what kind of car do you have, are you going to keep it as a daily driver and do you think a stripped stock rex with a b16 can run high 14s.

i swear by saying it was a d16 Si 5spd. all it had was a seat, a speedo, and a wheel in there. it was a damn rolling shell. all unnessacary engine stuff was removed as well.

hmmm.... I do believe you could have saved a little weight if you had gone with a thong instead of the speedo.. Ohh, Ohh.. and a litle anerexia couldnt hert.

I do believe that a stock b16 in a stripped down rex can do 14s.
On the right day with 500 km winds at your back and superman superpowering your way through the finish line, which on that given day was accidentaly painted a couple of meters too close to the start line... it's kinda possible.

(dont nobody blast me.. I was just makin a funny)

with proper fuel and ignition and proper tuning.

stroke a B16a?? are you nuts? the r/s ratio is near perfect, all you'd need to do is put good internals in with some high compression pistons and maybe a good pnp, and it'd be pretty quick.

I agree. An R/S of 1.74 is hard to beat.

Shit ive created a monster. Well for the fact im a poor white boy i got 3000 to spend on it. And i gotta have daily drivability.

Do you have any mods yet, or just the engine?

ecumatt

Its all stock. Im planin on throwin and i/h/e on it soon though.

Thepeug

Well that's $1000 right there. With the other $2000, I'd get some nice suspension (Tein group buy) for about $1200, then wheels and tires with the other $800. After you get a good stance, then I'd keep working on the power, depending on how much you want. My :2cents: .

Smokn91HB

yeah thats a plan.. i have seen a civic hb run high 14s with stock b16 though it was kinda gutted
