I am prety sure that the si tranny will hook right up, and the clutch for an si should work, i am not sure how much it will cost cause it depends on the type of clutch you get

It will work, no problem. You dont just get a clutch for an 88-91 Si though, you need to know specifically what year that tranny is. If the tranny is an 88, you need to get a clutch kit for an 88. If the tranny is an 89, you can get either an 89 clutch kit or you can get a 90-91 clutch kit if you get a 90-91 flywheel as well. The pressure plate is bigger on the 90-91's so you get a little bit more grab. And of course if the tranny is from 90-91 you just get a 90-91 clutch kit. Easy as pie.

...just use your stock axles.. and the si tranny doesnt use a intermediate shaft...it uses unequal length axles just like whatever tranny you have in your car :)

Hmm...so the 89 is different than the 90-91 trannies? I think I have an 89 Si tranny :wtf:

i thogut that if you used different trannys you would have to get mew axles or is that just with the zc. Aslo were can i get a Integ ecu and Si tranny for good prices.

If you use the ZC tranny it has an intermediate shaft, hence needing new axles. I put a DOHC ZC in with 91 SI tranny and used a 91 flywheel and clutch / pressure plate. I used my auto DX axles. For cheap parts I would check eBay. I picked up my SI tranny for $150 shipped with no grinds (it was so funny watching the UPS guy deliver the tranny). I got my ECU on thepartstrader.com for $70 (PG7).

heres one for u to id ur tranny.....transmisson input shaft on the 90-91 will have 2 grooves on the very end where the pilot bearing goes.....89 will have 1 groove and 88 will have none. just for some info....if you were to use a zc tranny on your car yet couldnt use teg axels like on the civic std and crx hf....you would always swap the diff out from zc to L3 diff. the zc diff will only accept the zc axels or teg axels as opposed to the L3 being able to accept si, dx, std, hf axels.
