I would leave the 400 on the rack, because i think that is a Winsor engine, which has a different bellhousing. The 400 and 351M has the 370 series bellhousing. I would rebuild that engine and put a edelbrock on top, decent cam, about 9.5:1 Comp, high volume melling oil pump, headers, dual exhaust, and port and polish your heads if you have the money. Make surethe get port matched intake and exhaust haskets if you go that route. Or find some cleveland heads.

I have to agree a nice 302 cam, 4 baral, intake, & headers with duals is a must Or if you have the money go fuel injected. :sunglasse
