steering problems

i have a 93 grand am 3300 and verable effort steering having major problems had a power steering leak so i changed the pump with a brand new one then when thanking off the thing that holds the power steering fluid i broke that so i searched for 2 days for a new one and finaly found a new one now the new stuff is on and when i turn the wheels to the right i get no power steering but i turn them back to the left once i get to stright it starts whinning untill it hits lock on the left then get no power sterering when i turn the wheels back to the right any sugestions would help greatly thanks 93gagt_red

cheak the steering belt mines was whinning last year and i changed it no problem since
