Hi folks, I have a 93 villager with 210,000km. Been good to me until now. It has problems with cold starts. It turns over but seems like it floods. Once I get it started it will continue to start no problem unless 5 to 6 hrs goes by, them I am back to square one. Had a tune up done but still the same. Any suggestions?

check engine codes first but I would look into the engine coolant temp sensor......

if that checks out then check fuel pressure

Ok folks, I figured it out. It was the throttle body. Cleaned it up and she fires up like a champ.

I've got a 94 with 135,000 on it - never cleaned the TB - but it doesn't start as quick as it used to - is that a big job? Will just spraying TB or injector cleaner in the TB do the trick or do you have to take it off and tear it apart to do it?

I am wondering how the TB get dirty? Was it caused by dirty fuel or air? Anyone tried injector cleaner gas additive? How good do you think that does, as opposed to a full blown injector cleaning service ? I guess this won't clean the TB, right?
Do you have some pictures and procedure of how you clean the TB? My Villager is 166K, probably needs some attention in that area too.

I had a professional do it. He took the whole thing apart and clean it.
