Ok I have 2 6x9 premium polk audio speakers from my old car, I decided I'd pop em in my new cavalier. I took the old speakers out only to realize that there are four wires goin into a connector for each speaker instead of just 2. Should just splice the 2 positives together and the 2 negatives together then connect them to the new speakers? Thx -Mav

i'd go to the car audio place near your or best buy or something and get the adaptor...just incase someday you decided to go back to the factory if you sell and what not.

Lets just say the friend I was working with on the speakers cut off the stock connector. So alls thats there for one of the back speakers is the 4 wires. 2 of them have a blakc line on them, the other two are solid.

i would wire the positives together and negatives together and see if it works, if not bring it to best buy, and let them take car of it

Well i tired every possible combo i could think of. Sometimes I get only crackly base, others only crackly highs. Other times it makes all the speakers sound distorted... so I don't what the hell is up. Anyone know what best buy would charge just to wire these puppies up?

if your gettin bad sound, its becasue you have crossed wires somehow. a guy from best buy told me if u put the negative on the postive part of the speaker, or other way around, u will get bad sound.
I know here in Windsor Ontario they wanted 40 dollars plus tax to put 2 speakers in my 92 Z24
