Hello! I am 25 years old and my name is Paul.
Just wanted to say that I am new to the hobby, and can't wait to get started!
I am going to read into the FAQ's and how to get started thread, and hopefully, I will be able to build models 1/2 as beautiful as the ones I have seen on here so far!

Thanks! It seems that the "Getting started in the hobby" pdf is no longer working...Anyone have a copy they could send my way?
Thanks!
Just got through the FAQ, and am ready to get to work. I think I want to model my current car! A subaru WRX!

Me too! There's a ton of great info here... In addition to the FAQ's, I highly recommend spending some time looking through a lot of the threads in the 'completed & in progress' thread. There's all kinds of useful tips, tricks & links in here...

I am trying to find a thread that lists all the materials and tools that I should purchase before starting. Any ideas?

Liquid glue w/ brush
Hobby knife (Xacto or similar)
sanding sticks
side cutters
Any decent LHS (local hobby store) should have these basics. Get yourself a kit, and then determine what you'll need in paint/brushes.
Good luck- and don't be afraid to ask questions (after you've reviewed the FAQ's, as many here will remind you!)
