Volunteers will continue searching for human remains at the World Trade Center on Christmas Day.
NEW YORK (AP) -- The grim work of searching for human remains in the World Trade Center ruins will continue on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
As it did on Thanksgiving, the massive, around-the-clock recovery and cleanup effort will continue at ground zero, where remains still are being found, Mayor Rudolph Giuliani said Sunday.
"The people working at ground zero are going to be volunteers, people who have volunteered to work on Christmas, understanding the fact that there is still a situation where time is of the essence in trying to recover as many human remains as possible," Giuliani said.
Christmas Day will mark 15 weeks since nearly 3,000 people died in the September 11 terrorist attacks on the trade center.
The mayor said church services will be held at the site during the holidays, and meals will be provided to rescue workers

How sad :( but this needs to be done so that families of those still "missing" can get some closure. How nice of them to drape the bodies with American flags, giving the victims one last piece of dignity.
