1G DSM Leather Steering Wheel

I'd like to know if anyone here has ever removed the leather covering the OE leather wrapped steering wheel on a First Gen. What does it look like underneath? Is it just the standard wheel with leather stitched over it? Is there glue or anything other than a pristine steering wheel hiding under the leather?

The leather is quite decrepit on my wheel after sitting unprotected in the sun for over 14 years. It must have been against his religion because it appears the previous owner never used leather or vinyl protectant on ANYTHING. I guess I'll have to kill the bastard and then use whatever money I find on him towards a new $400 dollar OE wheel. :mad:

search in ebay u can find steering wheels for cheaper price.. or even www.dsmtrader.com
do u want an airbag with the steering wheel... if u dont then u can better buy an after market steering wheel should be a lot more cheaper and will also look good... but that is just me :D
