to bad common sensce and the ability to read its oppenet the Ws6 and to a lesser degree the ss.. have more stock hp and torque and weigh less.

common sensens didates the whooping of the mach.. especially against the 01-02 F ls1 not only 1 in 5 have Ls6 blocks. but ALL 011-02 have the Ls6 intake manifold,, ls6 exhaust manifold, the6.0 liter Vorteck 345 truck cam profile, and tweeked ecu along with some ancilary Ls6 parts..

its a no brainer.. sine even smith in a mm&ff test took a z28 to12.89 ( and thats not the fastest F) and it was done in 80= degree wather with high humudity.. Not to mention Popular mechaninic 99 issue 13 quickest cars you can buy in America

where the Ws6 pre ls6 infusion ran a stagering13.1.. what Ford pray tell came even close...None..

and i have a 95 5.0 pushrod well modded with the usual and spray, and had a 99 Cobra fixed with 13 steed bolt-ons..

if you have a hard on.. both my present Ws6 has an LPE 427 non turbo with a fogger.. and the Z06 i own is a 750 427 TT with a foggeR aded on.. so ANY WISE CRACKS.. AND PUT UP... Actually in the August 03 issue of 5.0 Mustang and Superfords, they ran a 03 Mach 1 to 13.19 at 106.7 MPH. This way in stock form with street tires.

In the March 03 Issue of MM&FF, they ran a 03 Mach 1 to 13.13 at 105.5 mph with a 2.07 60 foot time. This too was also bone stock. Anyone drag racer knows that if slicks were added to achieve a 1.8 or 1.9 60 foot, the Mach will be in the 12's no problem.

Now here's a direct quote straight from page 48 of the March issue. "for you Chevy loves out there, the Mach 1 is quicker then the SS Camaro we tested in the August issue. I guess we 4.6 Mustang freaks don't need a blower to bash your now-extinct big-inch F-bodies after all." End quote.

Wait still not satisfied??? Ready for this, in the August 02 issue of MM&FF, they ran the 03 Cobra against the 02 Camaro SS, which I believe is the article you read where this supposed "Smith" drag tested both cars. The best he got out of the SS was 13.252 at 106.42 mph, and in the Cobra he ran 12.79 at 106.39.

Hold on not done yet! Here's the conclusion by "Smith" of the SS vs. Cobra. "Finally, after taking a backseat in performance to the LS1 F-cars since their 1998 introduction, the Cobra is now the clear champion. Which brings us to the old saw, It doesn't matter if you lose a few battles as long as you win the war."
