Tomorrow, I am inspecting a 1993, 3.2, 5 speed manual, 4X4, 131K, $2700...are there any specific problems associated with this year/make that I should look for??...this forum seems to have many posts related to problems with this vehicle, but not too many supporters and ravers about how much they love this car....any advice would be greatly appreciated...I have to drive the car from San Francisco to Vermont if I buy it.....thank you

i personally like the way my 93 has behaved. In my history with the Rodeo (same model and specs as yours) it has proven to be reliable and has stood up to light offroading (mostly sand hills). The only prob that the rodeo is notorious for is lifter noise. The way i got be this was with tranny fluid. Just put about a quart of tranny fluid in the motor oil (might have to drain a little engine oil) and let the engine idle for about 20 min. While it is still warm draing the fluid and refill. In most instances this works.

you may want to check for valve cover gaskets leaking and chek out the axle shaft boots othe rthan that and the lifter noise mentioned by silky there are just about bullet proof
