Basically I've been following this whole skyline things for a bit now. I've looked into what it takes to import and all that. Now when I finally think I have a grasp on the information some guy from india or something is saying they have many RHD 2 LHD conversions skylines r33, r34, etc etc. What also gets me is he said something about re-re-export and $34k us r34 skylines.. Can anyone clear this up for me? How many LHD skylines are there? I've only heard of a few, one of them was his, but he says they have many and it's not a hard process...

LHD is very hard on the Skylines, and I seriously doubt he has "many" of them.
In order to get the steering column mounted properly, the turbo locations and the exhaust manifold must be reconfigured to allow for the steering column, not to mention the airbox, reconfiguring the power steering pump and locating it, relocating the throttle cable linkage, clutch cable linkage etc etc.
it is not easy, and it takes alot of custom fabrication to do it.

From Nissan there are 0 LHD Skyline GT-R's.
It is possible to make the GT-R left hand drive , but it does require a lot of work. There is one LHD R33 in the US. They made a custom dash - and lots of work to put it together.
Henri Helanto has a left hand drive R32 that he did.
I have seen pics of cars from the middle east that are left hand drive. I have at least a few detailed pics of R33's - and some other pics of R34's...
If you can get R34 GT-R's for $25,000 - I will buy them from you.... $25,000 for a GTS - yep can see that... but the R34 would have to be a problem child...

There wasn't too much info on it and of course by the time I saw it it was already sold. Maybe since it was the purple colored one the price was reduced.

They actually did a news-piece on how easy it was for the Bosozoku (motorcycle gangs) to steal GTR's/EVO's/Ferrari's, ship and sell them out of the country. There are almost no regulations for export. There's at least one buyer in England who had his car impounded for being stolen. The chances of them discovering it in the US are pretty remote however. Take your chances.....you're much better off buying a low mileage R34 from Japan at around 35-40k that you KNOW is in good shape.

There is one silver LHD R33 here in Southern California.
Got quite a few pics of LHD cars from the Middle East. Even been selling some parts to UAE...
There is an issue with the LHD steering column and the rear turbo outlet....nothing that can't be cured with custom outlet pipes and downpipe.
As far as $80,000 for an R34 goes... thats the price we have to charge... I don't think a Modena is worth $150,000 , or a Bentley Arnage is worth $203,000 , or a Diablo is worth $280,000 , but thats what they cost.
I would personally prefer an R32 , and spend about $10,000 on it to make it wicked quick.

What I heard from Henri Helanto is that some (or all) of these cars are not genuine LHD's. They are done by connecting the existing steering to a extra steering wheel in left.

X's mark a chain/belt/?? that was used to get the steering response back to right side. I would think this would create quite a poor steering response and I would never do this to my car. Anyways, this is something I heard from Henri, I don't know if it is true or not. If it is, it's not street legal.

Eeer... It's not that easy because f.e the monitor of the computer is normally more to the right , to make it better visable from drivers seat...
Anyway , anything can be done:

I thought I'd chime in on this thread.
To back up BBD, there are no problems with LHD conversion. The only problem is how much it costs. It all depends on who and where you have it done. www.skylinemotors.com out of Wyoming USA does the LHD conversion. Did anyone catch the segment on the Speed Channel? I dont know how much they charge. But in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the conversion have been done several times and apparantly by the local Nissan dealership.
Whether the car's worth $80-$100,000 in LHD? If you can sell it for that price then its worth it!!!!!!
Motorex should not be put down as they're the only people with the nuts big enough to tackle the Skyline deboccle yet. If I was in their position I would put whatever price I wanted on the cars to maximize profit and sales numbers. They are a business, not a person's non-profit hobby.
Anywho.
Some pictures now:

Hopefully I will meet people like BBD or the www.toprpm.com guys on my next visit to the UAE. I did see a black r-34 in Satwa last December though.

Do a search on www.google.com
I checked their site a few days ago after it was mentioned on speedvision. Their site was under construction and all you could do was register and get an e-mail when the site was online.
