I recently purchased 2 autometer gauges: oil pressure and water temp. both mount into an a-pillar pod. now i have the ground and sender units hooked up on both gauges, the only problem im having is giving the gauges power and light. People have said to go through the fuse box and others have said to splice into the ignition wire for AC power and splice into the stereo for the lighting. i dont know which fuse(s) for the fuse box or which wires for the ignition/stereo. could someone help me out here? :(
pictures would be VERY helpful

You can run it either place. The fuse box, or the AC for the stereo. If you flip the lid of the fuse box over, it should tell you there what pods are for ingnition and such.

hey you're chris' friend craig. he installed the same gauges, but he's offline right now. i tried plugging the wire for the illumination into fuse #4 and they light up, but they dont dim. then i heard if i run it through the stereo they will constantly be on. i dunno, chris said he went through the stereo and they work fine. should i go through the stereo fuse? or splice into the stereo AC? thanks

OK, here's a pic thanks to my new digital camera. LOL

Position 11 on the fuse box or #1 in pic is a constant power source, don't use that one, it was just for reference. Position 12 on the Fuse box or #2 in pic is the radio fuse, which is a switched ignition slot. That's where I have the positive wire from my gauges hooked up.

well i just ripped apart my gauge cluster and found which wire controls illumination and dimming when the parking lights are on. my hand got mauled during the proccess of taking the harnesses off, but i guess it was worth it. i checked every fuse in my fuse box and none of them worked with dimming, i dunno. i'll prolly just splice into the wire i found or wedge the wire into the harness and tape it up. thanks a lot for the help!
