What modern stock platforms are lighter than a CRX?

I know a stock CRX (particularly the HF) is ridiculously lightweight, but just out of curiousity: are there any cars produced in the last 15 years (1990-2005) that are lighter in stock form than the CRX? Any make or model is fair game; even the really obscure stuff.

I thought the metro might be lighter. It'd be an interesting platform for a swap (from another make, of course). A fast Geo=the ultimate sleeper :evillol: .

i know the 8v Golf is close to crx weight at 2269lbs...the old skool rabbits are like 1900lbs close to crx hf weight. but this car is older than 15 years but thought id mention it since its a small hatch that you can swap newer engine into with not too much work

flame me? why not flame you when your civic gets beat by a geo metro :evillol:

those engines are made by Isuzu, which is in partnership with lotus on certain parts. there is also a 1.6L DOHC similar to the honda ZC, only it has a dual plane intake manifold much like an integra GSR.. it makes 130hp and revs to 7800 rpm :D

compare my earlier post to an 88 CRX HF, stripped bare with a B18B.. now tell me THAT wouldn't own..

I don't know what it had in it but there was a Ford Festiva on Car and Driver one weekend and it beat the hell out of a lambo. It is in a Super Street that I have but I can't remember which one. It is blue with a Shogun body kit and the caption says "Who gave the festiva stereroids" It didn't sound like a V8 either but there was no article on it just a pic in a show section.

ford made X amount of festivas with the taurus SHO engine in them with that shogun body. i think somewhere around 20, they made them to show off how powerful the SHO engine was.
