1995 civic LX engine swap?

my friend has a 95 civic LX,and is wanting to either buy a new car or get this one beefed up. i need some opinions on what engines would be good for a swap in this car, and some good upgrades that will give some decent power. i dont know much about hondas, i am into chevys myself, just trying to help out a friend.

I have the exact same year and model car.You have plenty of choices here and really the only good one is an engine swap if u want power,because no matter what you do to that 1.5 liter engine its not going to make that big in power gains.I put an intake,exhaust,cut off the converter,put my battery in my trunk and i still have no power.I would try to go with a B20 engine you could also do an h22a from the honda preludes but there heavy,either one is good power.I have a friend that raced an h22a against a Thunderbird with a V8 in it,even for a 4 cylinder it kept up with the v8.Its a tough decision to make but definitely go with an engine swap if you want some power cause you wont be able to do that much with that 1.5.

I also have the same year, and i swapped a B18B1 into it, many of my friends have the same car with b18c2 i think it is (GSR motor), and the b16a2 (civic SI motor), but i will say, if he can afford it, if you get ahold of a JDM GS-R motor, and drop it in that car, it will fly, get an exhaust, intake, headers, the works

Holy shit! Funny you should say that! Last night this stupid minivan was pacing with me for like 5 min next to me. So finally at a redlight we waited, then it turned green, then varooooooooooobouncebounceshift........waaaaaaaaaa aaaabouncebounce.....Anyway... He beat me at take off, beat me for like 9 seconds.... then after a longgg ass time I finally caught up and SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWLY passed him.... FUCK I thought I could beat him right away! Wow my 92 LX AUTO sux fat! :mad:

ohhhh that is funny but why does your car go so slow!?!?!?!? i have a 95 ex vtec AUTO.... im planing to swap. but the other day a vw getta pulled up to me i beat it off the line the it pulledup next to me and a lil in front of me then voooommmmmmm im gone. vtec kicked oh i love it... even tho it is puney.... at the time i did not have my header on so. dont get a new car just swap. for $2200 he can get a B16A and for $2100 he can get a H22A and they are full conversion kits. link thanks to GScivic7 --> www.hmotorsonline.com (http://www.hmotorsonline.com) peace guys.
