Quattro & Tires

I've heard rumors that Audi's equipped with Quattro tend to eat through tire rather quickly. I don't think Quattro would cause too much extra wear on the tires or maybe it just occurs on the "summer tires" Audi uses with the sport packages. A set of HR rated Michelin Pilots have about a 400 treadware rating and should last at least 45-50K.
Any thoughts?

Frequent tire rotations. Every oil change.And they will last alot longer. We replace factory tires roughly at about 28 to 30k.
