I Busted a stud off on the rear wheel of my 4x4 s10. I can not get the brake drum off to replace the broken stud. Is there a trick to this procedure? Thanks for any help.

I would make sure you loosen the adjuster all the way. Shoes are probably holding it on. If it wiggles a bit then you know its not stuck to the center hub part. I would then get a BFH. :naughty:

I backed the adjuster off as much as it would go. the drum spins freely but seems to be frozen th the part that holds the studs. I sprayed the stud holes with wd40. Anymore suggestions?

as the man said....a BFH, or take a torch to it and cut out just the stud, not sure how good you are with a torch but that would do it.

Did you try tapping the drum out from the back gently all around to sort of "coax" it?

as long as you hit them right on the drum you can really hit them hard without worrying about it, i've used a 5lb sledge before, drums are pretty strong.
